Hello, and welcome to The Primary Art Network.

I’m Hannah, a primary teacher and art subject leader. I began teaching in 2014 and have led art in a range of primary school settings since then. Art has always been the subject I’m most passionate about, and I’ve seen first-hand the difference a high-quality art education makes to children.

Why I started the network

For several years I’ve been part of a steering group for the Surrey Arts Cultural Education Partnership, sharing ideas with colleagues across the arts. I wanted a group specifically for primary art leaders, but there wasn’t one locally, so I launched The Primary Art Network in 2019. What began as a local Surrey group now meets online, with members from schools across the UK.
